Hi all - I just want to make sure my BBS is set up correctly on StarNet. I just fixed my conference numbers and set my scan pointers back, but when I polled the hub, the only area I got a message in is the Lord of the Rings area. Are there messages in the other areas?

Also, after I reset my scan pointers for StarNet, I turned off scanning of the other available networks. However, when I did a poll, I got the following errors, which looks like I'm still getting packets for message areas I don't have set up from the hub:

4/20 09:13:11p QNET !Message from STARFRON on UNKNOWN QWK CONFERENCE NUMBER: 2004 [x9]
4/20 09:13:11p QNET !Message from STARFRON on UNKNOWN QWK CONFERENCE NUMBER: 2005 [x9]

Check what conferences are turned on at the server end. You may be pulling conferences from other networks.

Weird, as I posted it on StarNet from my BBS, and that's where my message is on my BBS.. I did get one reply on my BBS that came up in DeveloperNet Announcements. I'm not sure where the mixup might be. I checked my message area configuration on my BBS, and the internal messagebase codes are different..

And the QWK conference numbers are correct for the hub you're posting to?

Yes, as far as I know. I downloaded the latest info pack for StarNet and set up the conference numbers with the hub according to the info pack. The conference numbers are only applicable on the hub (the conference numbers on my BBS are irrelevant), and StarNet's conference numbers are in the 8000 range.

I suppose it may be possible that the hub also carries DeveloperNet and has some duplicate conference numbers, but I have no way to check if that's the case.

Yeah it's making sure they match the hub that's critical. I'm the same with DOVE-Net. The conference numbers on VERT (and what I've configured my system to talk to) are in the 2000s range. But on my system, they are in the 3000s. I've used static numbers that are exactly 1000 higher than on VERT, so I could feed them on to BRIDGE.

I suppose it may be possible that the hub also carries DeveloperNet and has some duplicate conference numbers, but I have no way to check if that's the case.

Log into the hub using telnet and check what conferences are turned on. :)

But yeah for some reason, you did end up on DeveloperNet. I can post a message in StarNet and see if you get it. :) I'm on the FTN side there. :)
