I was able to copy CCGMS Ultimate toa floppy on my 1541. Then load it up on the C64 and set up my WiFi Modem. There were some very helpful videos on setting up the modem. No I am calling out on my beadbox for the first time in over 30 years.

I'd love to do that! Luckily, I had both CCGMS and DesTerm 128 on floppy still and they floppies worked! I did have an issue with my 1581 not workig in C128 mode (May be the PLA needs to be reseated in my 128) because it's doint something funky with the boot sequence on the 1581. The 1581 works fine in C64 mode. I only had DesTerm on 3.5 floppy, so I had to us Mavrick to copy the files from the 1581 to a newly formatted (formatted it tonight) 5.25 floppy in my 1541. This whole experience has taken me back to the 80's. The file copy worked. Now I can load up DesTerm from my 1541.

I am real close to using my C128 to put my C-Net128 BBS up on it. Its currently emulated. If I do, I can switch up to the newer version of CNet 128 because I will be using my Turbo232 hookup that I was using for the C64 BBS. I am going to put that back to emulation and off my real C64.

Going to real hardware and the newer T2 version of C-Net 128 is a good move, it's still a trash program because there are so many issues with it, but at least it will be more stable. When I was running my C-Net 128 I found that by running it on the Lt Kernal emulation it was very stable. Very rarely crashed! When I had it on the CMD emulation it crashed all the time and dropped carriers were brutal. The changeover will be a good thing though..

I don't recall calling your C128 instance yet. Since I have the actual hardware, It may be a good thing to do!!

When I read stuff like, "Turbo232 hookup", XU1541, CC64U, etc., I have to look them up because that are all new things to me. I have been drawn back into a world that I though was dead long ago. People who loved these computers back in the day have kept them alive and not just alive, but created new hardware for the old hardware for them to work in today's technology. I love it. I could spend another small fortune on all of the new stuff that's out there. Getting my WiFi modem was a great thing I did for myself though. I'd love to get a cart of some kind to load files from an SD card, but I'm not too versed on the various options out there yet. The XU1541 seems like a fun thing to have being that I still have my old working 1541 and 1581 drives. I need a copy of the latest version of CCGMS so I can actually upload and download with my WiFi modem. I found out the hard way that it doesn't work with CCGMS 5.5.

I do need to call your other boards. The reason I called your Amiga variant was because I was playing with Amiberry and got that working on my Raspi4 using Term on the Emulated Amiga.

Now to get back into the old (new) world of the Commodore 64 / 128 again seems to have it's draw.

Thinking of playing with C-Net 128..

While I have not posted anything there for a LONG time. check out my forum www.catracing.org/hendrb.forum

There is a C-Net 128 and Amiga support form there with a couple of informative posts (With screen shots).. One if you are planning on doing any customization or programming is a must have (Reprograms your function keys with the CTRL-CODES that C-Net 128 Uses).

Feel free to share your mods for other C-Net SysOps as well.

Every time i have thought about playing with C-Net 128, I am reminded how much it actually sucks! and put it away again.... The Amiga version is SOOO much better.

Well, if the retro scene's big enough to bring a 40-year old company back from the dead, there must be something to it.
