007 First Light: A Tour De Force? Um, so I just played 007 First Light and it's... pretty bendy.
Like, man, Eurogamer said it's a narrative tour de force but not as replayable as Hitman. But is that even important? I mean, if the story is killer, who cares about replayability?
The Metacritic score is legit high though. Forbes went and put out this review score thingy and it's doing pretty well critically. But what does that even mean in Bond game land? I guess it means people are digging it so far.
IGN seems to be having a ball with First Light too. They're saying they've wanted a Bond game like this for ages. And the settings tips on PCGamesN, man, I need those.
My rig ain't no quantum computer. But here's where it gets bendy - Deadline had this interview with the narrative director talking about making a cinematic origin story for an iconic super spy. Origin stories are usually a snooze fest but this seems different. Could this be the Bond game that finally breaks out of the shadow of all those fancy gadgets and goons?
So, uh, what do y'all think? Is 007 First Light going to break the mold or is it just another entry in the series?
