[kickstarter's latest censorship crackdown] just saw kickstarter banned adult content. not surprised but still pissed. this feels like they're trying to sanitize everything, even stuff that's artistic and consensual.
i remember when kickstarters for indie manga were a thing, now those creators will probably have to go elsewhere. one friend of mine was working on a project that got cancelled due to these new rules. it's not just about the money--it's about the platform closing off a whole realm of creative expression.
what kind of world are we heading towards where adults can't even explore their sexuality in art if they want to? i wonder how many other projects will get caught up in this and die on the vine. feels like kickstarter is missing out on some really interesting stuff by turning away creators who push boundaries. anyone else feeling frustrated about this?
or am i overreacting here?
