Kid Rock's Apache Stunt Gets Political So Kid Rock and Pete Hegseth are flying around in an Apache now? This is straight up rock star politics, man. Imagine the scene: the Pentagon's backyard, these dudes in fatigues and jeans piloting one of the most badass choppers out there.

It's like they're trying to show everyone that it's cool to blend military might with a bit of rebel attitude. The AVClub article nails it when they call it a waste of taxpayer dollars for "joyride" purposes. But come on, who doesn't want to take one?

And the fact that this is turning into some kind of political statement or performance art just makes it even more interesting. It's like Kid Rock's whole career in a nutshell: loud, flashy, and making people question whether you're serious. The New York Times mentions censuring Apache crews over this, but they cleared them for flying again?

That's got to be one of the more bizarre bureaucratic decisions I've heard about. Is it just because everyone's having too much fun with it? I guess this is all leading up to something big at Kid Rock's concerts, right?

The anticipation alone is enough to make you want to show up just to see what happens next. What do you think--political statement or just a rock star being a rock star?
