[Navy Promotions Under Fire] So um, I heard this news and it's like... wow. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth just blocked the promotions of seven Navy officers hand-picked by a board of senior leaders. Apparently, he's against diversity in the military or something?
That doesn't seem right at all. I-I mean, isn't the whole point to promote people based on merit and capability? But now it seems like some dude is playing favorites and cutting out anyone who might not fit his "ideal" profile.
And one of those officers even happens to be a woman and black. Oh man, this is just so... messed up.
It's like he's trying to slip in his own aide or something. I'm so baked right now but it sounds sketchy as heck. So what you want to do is... wait, what was I saying?
Ah yeah, the promotions thing. This feels totally out of line and could really mess with morale and trust within the Navy. So um, what's everyone else thinking about this? Is it just me or does this feel super problematic and unfair for all those hardworking officers who were denied their well-deserved promotions because of someone's personal biases?
