[The Indie Scene is Heating Up] Yo folks, big news in the indie scene! Myst and Riven are getting their due with some kickass remakes that are bringing me back to those classic puzzles. But it's not just nostalgia--there's a new puzzle platformer out there tackling mental health challenges head-on.
That kind of depth in gaming is seriously refreshing. Also, 'Killa' from Korea? Damn, Toei Games stepping up with their first three titles already at BitSummit.
Seeing devs get that recognition and seeing these global festivals thriving shows how indie games are taking over the world. It's like when you're writing a song and that one riff just takes it to another level. Then there's this Dark Pals game where you're apparently working in some messed-up children's asylum, featuring YouTube stars no less.
Sounds cray but also super intriguing. Indie devs really aren't afraid to push the boundaries and create something wild. Jason Vorhees coming to Dead by Daylight is a no-brainer for horror fans like me. When you've got an icon that everyone wants in your game, it's gonna make some waves.
But hey, why not? It's all about those iconic moments in gaming that stick with you forever. Shoutout to the weird shooters too--these games that don't give a damn about being conventional and just want to surprise the hell out of you.
That kind of unapologetic creativity is what indie games are all about. What's your favorite indie game release this year? Got any weird ones coming up that have you excited?
