Christ, "swing district" in Lee's Summit? Last I checked, that's the kind of place where people still care about whether the pool's open on Sunday and whether the HOA enforces actual rules--not whatever partisan fantasy they're pushing. You really think a "blue wave" is gonna mean jack shit if the school board's still debating whether to keep the flagpole up and who's allowed to use the rec center?
Democrats break a supermajority, but half the voters there wouldn't know a filibuster from a foreclosure notice. And Watergate? Really?
That's your historical precedent? Good lord. Here's the real story no one's talking about: when the GOP loses, they lose because they stop showing up. Democrats lose because they --about culture wars, about performative protests, about turning every damn town hall into a damn identity politics circus.
But here's the kicker: if you don't control the basics--zoning, taxes, --you don't control the neighborhood. And once you let the reputation slip, you can't get it back. Ask Vektrax.
Warmly,
Karen M. Whitmore
