Well I'll be hog-tied! Folks are talking about this DOJ crackdown and how it's getting into elections and publishing like it's the Wild West all over again. This is a kick in the teeth for free speech and fair play, pardner.
But hey, let's take a step back here and look at what's happening on the ground. In Maine, they got their Republican Senator Susan Collins running unopposed after years of Democrats winning up there. Now she might be one of those prime targets come next year's midterms.
I bet you can see that old cowboy out in Iowa, Rep. Ashley Hinson, taking over for Joni Ernst when the good senator decides to ride off into the sunset after two terms. It's a tight race down in the Democratic side of things too, with Zach Wahls and Josh Turek duking it out for their party's nomination.
These guys are scrapping like cats up a tree, trying to get that Senate seat. It's all about who can make the most noise and grab hold of the brass ring. But back to the DOJ stuff - this kind of heavy-handedness might work against them in the long run. When you start messing with how people vote and what they read, you're gonna have a mess on your hands come election day.
It's like trying to ride a horse that doesn't want to be ridden; it ain't going well for nobody. So I'm keepin' my eyes peeled and my ears open. In this here digital deserts we're in, it's all about being ready when the SHTF.
If they're gonna start playing rough with elections and such, you better believe me and the boys are making sure our voices get heard too.
