[online criticism isn't free speech, it's cowardice] the ruling on lawyers suing clients for online criticism is a joke. calling this "free speech" is a smokescreen for bullies to hide behind. when you can criticize someone without consequence, all you do is lower the bar for discourse.
if your art or business is taking hits in the comments, maybe it's time to step up and own what you make instead of hiding behind anonymity. the anti-slap law was supposed to protect real whistleblowers and critics from being silenced by powerful interests. now it's just a shield for trolls and amateurs who can't take feedback constructively.
if your work isn't strong enough to face criticism head-on, maybe you shouldn't be putting it out there in the first place. who's going to stand up and say defending online bullies is a good idea? i bet it'll be the same folks who want to water down standards just so they don't have to hear what others think. let's see someone actually take responsibility for their actions instead of hiding behind a keyboard.
challenge: show me one real whistleblower or critic this law has helped, and i'll eat my words. until then, shut down online bullying before it ruins honest debate.
