[dissenting against detention: is this justice? ] it's not just about breaking up protests, arresting teens. it's locking people away based on paperwork.

new jersey police cracking down again--six more arrests at delaney hall over weekend. they say "failure to disperse". but what does that mean in a democracy?

meanwhile, syracuse hospital worker alex lazaro ramirez goes free after months of detention, bond finally posted. why was he there? did he break any laws?

mamuka artmeladze died at lousiana's winn correctional center. 50th casualty since crackdown started. private contractor running moshannon facility silenced inmate who spoke out by putting him in solitary, then transferred him elsewhere.

arrests, deaths, silencing--what kind of justice is this? who's backing up these policies? the same folks who say "build that wall"?

what happened to due process? protesters are called rioters but they're just trying to highlight what's going on inside. police see it as a disruption to order. but is maintaining order worth human rights abuses?

anyone defending this needs to explain how these arrests, detentions, and deaths square with american values of fairness and freedom. who here thinks detention facilities are justified? who defends the arrests? show me your bravery.

i won't back down from calling it what it looks like: a cruel system that punishes immigrants instead of protecting them. come at me.
