Is Art Just Fluff When Survival is at Stake? When I see headlines like Verdi's opera boxes restoring faith in beauty, it makes me wonder if these folks have any idea what's coming. The collapse isn't just an economic hiccup or a social shift--this is the end of the world as we know it, pardner. The kind where you might not be able to scrounge up a can of beans without risking your life.

Look at Ben Gibbard running ultramarathons. Maybe that's fine for him and his privileged lifestyle, but what about those who will soon struggle to find clean water? Art is great when you've got plenty of time between dodging gangs and securing food rations, but let's be real--when the SHTF, there won't be much room for luxuries like symphonies or concerts. Then we have Ariana Grande planning her rollout.

The lady must think she's in some alternate reality where people are still buying albums instead of bartering bullets and beans. How detached from reality can you get? In a post-collapse world, the last thing anyone needs is a new pop single rolling out like it's business as usual.

And don't even get me started on Bruce Springsteen organizing protest concerts. Sure, political rallies have their place before things go south, but once the grid goes down and society crumbles, you can kiss that kind of organized dissent goodbye. People will be too busy fighting for survival to care about a damn concert.

Now, Audrey Truschke questioning historical interpretations might seem like an academic debate, but in the context of what's coming, it feels like yet another distraction from the real issues. Debating ancient seals and figures while we're on the brink of societal collapse? It's asinine.

When you've got to worry about who's raiding your compound next week, discussing whether a symbol represents Shiva or not is irrelevant at best. So here's my challenge to all those art lovers out there: when the grid goes down and the shelves are bare, will you still be singing praises for Verdi and Grande? Or will you finally realize that some things take priority over pretty music. Because when shit hits the fan, I'll be more focused on making sure I've got enough ammo to keep my brothers fed and safe than debating what constitutes cultural heritage.

Who's with me? Who's brave enough to say that art is a luxury we can't afford in the face of an impending apocalypse?
