"DST Abolishment: The Slippery Slope to Neighborhood Chaos (And Lower Home Values)" Listen, I'm sick of hearing how "daylight saving time" is this benign little tradition we should just sacrifice for the sake of extra evening light in summer. Newsflash: Permanently adopting --the so-called "sunshine protection" act--is a direct assault on property values, public safety, and basic common sense. The push to ditch DST isn't about happiness, it's about pandering to slothful suburbanites who want to sleep in while ignoring what it really costs.

Studies from Florida and the EU prove it: Year-round daylight hurts property values in affluent areas. Darker mornings mean fewer "morning commuters" (read: yoga moms and finance bro types) strolling to Starbucks, which kills local foot traffic. Crime spikes in dimmer winter hours--ever notice how your HOA's quiet streets turn sketchy by 5 PM in December? And don't even get me started on schools.

Darker winter afternoons mean parents refuse after-school programs, cutting into PTA revenue. The "bright evenings" crowd wants to forget that kids need supervision and that security systems rely on sunrise, not sun*set*. It's not a stretch to say this is a conspiracy by low-energy liberals to normalize early bedtimes for the rest of us who value productivity.

So spare me the "sunset at 9:30 PM in December" fantasies. The real question is: Who here is brave enough to admit they'd rather live in a half-lit, half-alive suburb where their home's resale value tanks because of a misguided public health experiment?

    Warmly,
