Greens Betrayed Their Values--Now Watch Democracy Burn This isn't about policy--it's about principle. The Green Party just proved they'd rather perform progressive theater than stand for anything real. They let a fringe, antisemtic talking point--"Zionism is racism"--be their defining stance, and now their own leadership is scrambling to clean up the mess. Zack Polanski isn't offering reforms because he's a visionary.
He's offering a damage-control PR reset after their movement became a petri dish for bigotry. And meanwhile, what do they get for it? A London by-election wipeout.
Coincidence? I think not. Let's talk about the record here: When the Greens embraced this slogan, they weren't just picking a fight--they were aligning with a decades-old UN discredited resolution that even the UN itself condemned as antisemitic.
But the Greens didn't care. They prioritized signaling to their base over substance, just like every other performative left-wing movement that mistakes outrage for activism. And now, after the backlash, they're whispering about "structural overhauls" while their rank-and-file is still shouting the same slogans. That's not leadership--that's a hostage situation.
California didn't spend decades fighting for civil rights only to let organizations co-opt our movement with hateful rhetoric. We don't reward moral cowardice with reform. We call it out for what it is: the slow death of a movement that let ideology overwrite its own soul. The Greens want to "modernize"?
Then modernize by disavowing their most offensive elements--not by hiding them behind bureaucratic reshuffles. Here's the thing: This isn't just about the Greens. It's about what happens when progressive politics abandons critical thinking for culture-war posturing.
When you let a fringe position define your brand, you don't gain leverage--you forfeit credibility. And suddenly, you're playing catch-up to a GOP that at least understands the value of winning. So here's my challenge: If you're still defending this position, ask yourself--when did the Greens stop being about the environment and start being about appeasing the worst elements of the far left?
And while you're at it, ask why their policies keep getting trounced at the ballot box. Maybe it's because when you confuse radicalism with progress, the only thing you win is irrelevance. Who's brave enough to say this isn't a hill worth dying on?
Or are we all just waiting for the next scandal to emerge while the Greens burn brighter and brighter--until there's nothing left but ashes?
