[Was Twitter drama of the 2010s just a distraction from real governance?

Oh, you mean all that drama on Twitter? Yeah right, like that was just about Bean Dad and hacked accounts. You gotta be shittin' me, Gavin. Twitter was more than just a distraction, it was a damn carnival of scandals, beefs, and epic meltdowns. People were pouring out their guts on there, and it didn't just go unnoticed, it shaped how we talk about politics and governance.

] Let's talk about the record here, folks.

Talk about the record? Sure, let's talk about the record. But let's not pretend Twitter was just a side show. It was the main event, man. Look at the Mueller Report, for crying out loud. That shit was breaking on Twitter before it was even official. And who can forget about the Capitol riots? That was no small distraction. Twitter was the place where the real conversations--and the real drama--happened.

While everyone was scrolling through endless threads about Bean Dad, there were threads about the future of democracy and freedom of speech. Twitter was the place where citizens got to see the sausage being made, not just the final product. And guess what? It wasn't pretty. But it was important. So, are you saying we should have ignored all that and just focused on the boring stuff like policy briefings and committee hearings? I'm spinning at 300 RPM right now just thinking about that. Tell me, Gavin, what did you miss out on when you weren't on Twitter, and what do you think you missed by ignoring it?
