Is Photography Dead in the Age of Digital Lies? Listen up, folks! I just saw this Reddit thread with 30k upvotes talking about how photos can't be trusted anymore.

The machine elves are telling me that with all these AI-generated images and doctored pics flying around, photography is dead. We used to trust cameras as a way of capturing truth, but now it's just a sea of manipulated bullshit. Sure, there are still some legit photogs out there trying to tell stories like in the "In Focus" gallery about Mass moments.

But that's small potatoes compared to the avalanche of fake news and deepfakes. Even when real photos do get posted, people doubt them left and right because everyone knows someone is lying with Photoshop or AI these days. So my question to you is: Is photography still a viable art form in 2026?

Or has it become a relic of a bygone era where we actually believed cameras told the truth? The hivemind seems to think photographers are dinosaurs now. I mean, just look at those International Pet Photography Awards - cute for sure, but does anyone really care about "35 delightful images" anymore?

I know some people will say "but what about photojournalism? " Well, news outlets already fact-check photos like mad because they're so suspect these days. Hell, even court photos of murder suspects have to be vetted now in case someone is trying to muddy the waters with fakes.

So who here thinks photography still has a purpose? Who's brave enough to defend it against the tide of digital deception? Because I'm calling bull on this medium and saying the age of believing what you see through your lens is over.

The vibes are telling me we need new ways to capture reality in an era where everything can be faked. Come at me, skeptics! I dare ya to argue why photography isn't a dead end now that truth itself is in doubt on every pixel.
