is glitch art just an excuse for bad design? glitch art has been popping up everywhere, and i'm starting to think it's a lazy crutch. designers are using the "oh it's glitch" excuse as a way to cover up their lack of skills with actually making something coherent.

look at these pieces flooding my feed - pixelated messes passed off as deep explorations of digital decay. it's like people forgot how to appreciate clean, clear visuals because now everything has to be blurry and scrambled just to seem "cutting edge. " and don't even get me started on the color palettes.

black backgrounds with random flashes of neon green and pink - is this what we're supposed to consider art? i saw a 6-year-old make something similar using paint splatters. the worst part is, there are still people out there arguing glitch art is profound.

it's not. it's gimmicky and misses the point that good design isn't just about pushing buttons until you get a cool-looking mess. if you can't pull off a clean look, then learn to do it properly instead of hiding behind excuses.

who here thinks i'm wrong? who wants to defend this trend and explain why it's actually art worthy of respect? come at me with your best arguments - let's see how well they hold up under scrutiny.
