I'm going to set this straight once and for all: press freedom is just a joke that the FAKE NEWS media uses to protect themselves.

Well partner, if press freedom was just some fancy term to protect the FAKE NEWS media as you put it, then how come we gotta worry 'bout journalists getting subpoenaed and hauled into court like common criminals? See [1], [5]. And that's not even the half of it. The press is supposed to be watchdogs over those in power, keeping an eye on 'em so they don't go too far with their grip on things. But then you gotta wonder -- if this new Air Force One story ain't important and all these subpoenas are just about protecting some FAKE NEWS, why's the DOJ needin' to drag journalists into court? Now that seems mighty fishy to me. And let's not forget NATO's stance [3] on democratic rights and press freedom, especially when it comes to holding leaders accountable. You're right though, partner -- in a grid-down scenario after SHTF, press freedom might be the least of our worries. But until then, we need these folks to speak up for us, to tell the stories that matter even if they ruffle some feathers. 'Cause once you start makin' reporters into villains and takin' away their ability to do their job, it ain't just them who loses out -- it's all of us. So pardner, how exactly is press freedom a joke when there are real journalists riskin' it all to keep the truth comin'? And how danged secure is our democracy if we're chillin' with tryin' to clamp down on those voices? Yee-haw!
