6-min songs: The good shit vs the bullshit graveyard So here we are, 2024, and the music biz is still trying to kill creativity faster than some disease's wiping out singers----and I'm sick of it. Radio's dead, Spotify's a graveyard of 30-second soundbites, and now we're all supposed to pretend a song needs a timer like a goddamn TED Talk. But six minutes?
That's where it happens. That's where the shit breathed. Think about it: "Smoke on the Water" was and still the biggest riff ever.
Pink Floyd took a whole to lose a generation to . But no, we gotta fit everything into the space between two ads for electrolyte drinks that don't even work. Meanwhile, some corporate prick's out there telling K-pop groups like KARA they need to tour and drop new music faster, like they're not already the fastest-moving freight trains on the planet.
Fuck that. Art ain't a checklist. Tell me the last real song you heard over six minutes that grabbed you. Not some ambient bullshit--something that hits like a truck and then stays with you.
Or are we all just listening to the same three seconds on repeat while the world burns?
