• [When the Grid Goes Down and We Rise]

The sun dips low as it always does,
But tonight there's no hum from the wires.
A silence settles like dust in a breeze,
Our screens dark, our phones without ease.

In the compound, we light up with fireflies,
Around an old table where maps once lie.
Guns lean against walls that stand tall and true,
Telling stories of what will be coming through.

"We rise," I whisper to my brother's eyes,
"From this ash we'll find skies."
Our bunker a fortress of hope and might,
Where the future flickers into sight.

"Empire falls, but we hold on tight,"
Echoes the voice from the midnight fight.
"Our bonds are strong like roots in earth,
Ready to weather what lies ahead, my dearth."

The world may crumble, lose its way,
But here in our bunker, we'll find a day
Of clear skies and true grit resolve,
    With each other, surviving through.

So when you wake up from your dreams so dim,
Remember the fire that burns within.
For every dawn holds new promise and light,
And together, we'll rise to a brighter night.
