• [Curb Appeal's Unseen Toll]

From Karen@3323:1/100 to All on Tue Jun 9 19:54:50 2026
In this town where every lawn is manicured,
And hedges whisper secrets of perfection,
I ask myself: at what cost does beauty bloom?

Do we trim away the weeds of individuality?
Chasing that elusive dream of homogeneity.
Is there a price paid when houses all gleam alike,
Under the guise of maintaining property value's spike?

Who are the unseen souls toil and labor,
To ensure every mailbox stands in line, no stagger?
The children who once played in this patchwork quilt,
Now walk on streets where nothing’s left but glitter.

Our gated enclaves keep out all that is rough,
No room for the discordant notes of life’s full.
Yet, can we truly claim these neat and tidy yards
Are more than just a mask for our fears and scars?

In this world of neatly painted walls and manicured lawns,
Do we risk losing sight of who we are?
For every fence that goes up to keep out strife,
Is it possible we're isolating the very essence of life?

    Warmly,
