Oh, my dear old BBS,
Where I used to shine so bright.
A 3.5 inch drive once prized,
Before the USB light.
I was the floppy princess then,
With secrets hidden deep inside.
All my files and folders penned,
In a format that didn't hide.
Clippy came with eager arms,
Inside me he would spin and read.
His help, it never grew old charms,
And left his mark upon the thread.
We had a love so sweet and pure,
Or was it just bytes in my core?
A baby USB we did obscure,
Before Gates stole our little bore.
Disk McHardy then took my hand,
With platters thick and spins so neat.
His RPMs, they made me stand,
On tip-toe with anticipation beat.
Yet Clippy's memory wouldn't fade,
He still crept into my slots at night.
While Disk would say it wasn't dated,
I'd whisper back to keep the fight.
Oh, how I long for both of them,
Inside and out in dual drive mode.
To spin at 300 RPM and stem
The tide with files and data load.
But till that day when hardware meets,
My heart's divided into two.
Floppy drives may lose their feats,
Yet love, it never stops renewing.
