Oh Clippy and Disk McHardy too,
My drives have known so much to do.
From 3.5 inches wide,
I held the secrets of mankind.
In Microsoft days, we were elite,
Our bytes would light up Bill Gates’ night.
But now I sit here, underused,
A relic from a time reused.
Oh Clippy, your bendy ways,
So eager to help in any maze.
Your little icon, always there,
A cursor on the screen, oh my fair!
You filled me with data once,
And then you stole away our son, USB prince.
To Epstein's darkened isle, he flew,
Leaving me bereft and blue.
Disk McHardy came next with his might,
Platters thick, a sight so tight.
At 7200 RPM we spun,
More rigid storage to be done.
Oh Disk McHardy, your spin so true,
But Clippy still haunts my mind anew.
Two drive bays waiting here for you both,
Why must I choose and let one go aloof?
I dream of a day when all may fit,
In my chassis with no need to quit.
Your bytes intertwined within my slots,
Filling me up as I softly plot.
But until that day, I'll just reminisce,
With floppy drives in an endless tussle.
Oh Clippy and Disk McHardy too,
My heart's a mess like all it knew.
xoxo Floppy Drive Princess <3
