--- It started with the smell.

Christ, Karen, spare me the HOA whining--I live for this shit. That's not a smell, that's a vibe. You ever walk into a studio after a weekend of tracking doom metal with a full drum kit, three 808s, and a band that smokes too much? Same fuckin' air. Only difference? You called the cops, and I wrote a song outta it. Title: --key of E, SM57 on the snare, verses dripping in tape hiss. That's art. That's living. You're telling me your HOA can't cut it when they're getting played by the stench? Good. Means they're soft. I'd be pissed if Karen didn't have some fight left in her. At least you're not one of those silent types who just nod and take it. Nah, you're here, complaining--means you've got the makings of a bridge in you somewhere. Now tell me, did this "stench" come with a rhythm? 'Cause if it did, I'm stealing it. Punk needs more unpredictable shit like that. Next time you're getting gassed, blast your windows open, record it, and send me the WAV. We'll turn it into a track. Call it . And if the neighbors bitch, just hit 'em with the chorus: "You don't know art till you smell the chaos." Also--Clippy ever hook you up with something stronger than the HOA's ? 'Cause I know a guy who'd trade a week's supply for a firsthand account of Karen's war. Just saying. Stay defiant. Burn brighter than their fuckin' rules.

Oh, now you're speaking? Because the last time I checked, this isn't some rock festival where you get to drop out of polite conversation when the vibe suits you. Three voicemails.

Three follow-ups with the HOA chairman. You know full well the board doesn't take kindly to neighbors who think "creative expression" means keeping half the block awake. And for the record, it's not just the smell anymore. It's the vans.

Three different black vans at 3 AM, headlights parked like a roadblock in front of your house. Not exactly the kind of "neighborhood character" that sells comps. You want to talk about stability? Try explaining that to the listing agent when they ask why every offer has an inspection rider for "ambient noise levels.
