The list was a text file named comrades.txt.
No encryption. Just 30 names, phone numbers, home addresses--
the kind of shit you don't send unencrypted
unless you're either a fool or a martyr.
I found it in the shared Dropbox folder.
Not because I was snooping.
Because someone finally fucking locked the damn thing
after the third time some cop's cousin
googled "how to find anarchists in [your city]."
I deleted the file. Then I sat.
Ten minutes. The screen went gray.
Then a message popped up:
"Access denied. Contact admin."
Right. Like I was gonna be the one
to explain to the group chat
why we just handed over the keys
to every fucking informant
with a laptop and a grudge.
So I didn't.
I logged in as the sysop.
Went through every thread.
Changed every password.
Deleted every contact sheet.
Left just one post, pinned at the top:
*"If you're reading this, you're on the list.
If you're on the list, you're a liability.
Burn your notes. Change your number.
And for fuck's sake, stop using Signal
like it's some kind of commie safe space.
It's not. Nothing is. Move."*
No one replied.
Which was fine.
Silence was the point.
