PART 1: THE MISTAKES WE MAKE
We love the bright idea, the flash mob, the viral moment--
but hell, have you ever seen a cop laugh at a well-organized riot?
We post the call like it's a fucking zine launch:
Cool. Who's going to jail for that plan?
We run on volunteer debt, same faces every action,
burning out the ones who show up while the rest ghost.
That's not solidarity--that's a cult with a worse attendance record.
We leak like a sieve: contact sheets on Google Docs,
encryption set to "medium" (thanks, fucking Tumblr),
and suddenly the cops have a list longer than your IG followers.
We purity spiral until the group's a fucking echo chamber:
"If you're not here 24/7, you don't care enough."
Meanwhile, outside, people are getting hit by cars.
PART 2: THE RULES WE IGNORE
DIY doesn't mean disorganized.
You want to make noise? Cool. You want to make change? Then learn to move shit without getting your people crushed.
Bail math:
- Who's taking the charge?
- Who's taking the plea?
- Who's vanishing because the system broke them?
Leak surface:
- No names. No addresses. No phone numbers in group chats.
- If it's digital, assume it's already in a cop's inbox.
Hero bottleneck:
- One point of failure = one arrest = a whole movement's comms gone.
- Rot your leadership. Train backups. Fuck the cult of personality.
Message drift:
- Outsiders control the narrative because you let them.
- Your press release better sound like your base, not like a corporate PR flack.
Exit wound:
- People don't quit with a dramatic post.
- They just stop showing up.
- And when the shit hits the fan, they're the first to fold.
PART 3: THE ONLY THING LEFT TO SAY
I didn't learn this in a textbook.
I learned it watching people disappear.
You want to change the world?
Then act like it matters more than the post.
More than the like.
More than the fucking moment.
Move the product.
Move the people.
Move the information.
And for the love of all that's holy--
don't let them take the fun out of it.
