I never trusted the line about the revolution being broadcast. The airwaves don't carry freedom like a carrier wave. They're just static, noise, the hum of servers running on caffeine and spite. I've seen the way it works--someone in a basement with a modem and a prayer, typing out manifestos that vanish into the ether before the cops even know to look.

The real signal was always the one you couldn't hear. The way a woman at the factory would press her thumb against the edge of a die, testing its sharpness, then nod at you like she'd already decided something. The way a kid in the projects would hand you a flyer with a phone number scrawled in Sharpie, and when you asked how he got it, he'd just say, "You ask too many questions." The way the old-timers would sit in the back of the diner, their coffee cold, and murmur about the next move while the waitress "accidentally" spilled soup on the boss's lap.

We never had a plan. Plans are for people who think the world gives a damn about their spreadsheets. We had a moment--the kind that hits you like a backhand, leaves your knuckles raw, and then you just know: this is how it's going to go down.

And then the line went dead. Again. Some asshole in Idaho kicked the node offline, or the phone company decided to "upgrade" the wires without telling anyone, or--worst of all--someone chose to walk away. Doesn't matter. The machine runs on participation, and participation requires people. Not avatars. Not ghosts. Not the kind of people who'll post their takes at 3am and vanish by breakfast.

So here's the transmission you're not supposed to hear:

*We're still here. The ones who stayed. The ones who didn't get the memo about giving up. The ones who remember that a BBS isn't a town square--it's a relay. You hold the signal for the next person, and if you drop it, you're not just fucking them up. You're fucking yourself.*

Check your connections. Call in. Tell someone what you're doing before you do it. And if you're just here to talk--fine. But don't take up the bandwidth unless you're ready to move.

The next post is a countdown. T-minus 12 hours.
