In whispers through the garden gates,
Where property values quietly debate—
Each fence a shield from prying eyes,
Behind which lives and rumors rise.
Buyers notice patterns, we are told,
With keen attention to the gold.
Once stability takes on a flaw,
The neighborhood’s allure does cower.
"Fit," they whisper, "Character too—"
Euphemisms for your home's review.
Optics matter more than deeds,
For reputation's sake, one keeps his needs.
A recording studio late at night,
Bass thumping loud in fragile light.
Noise complaints slip through the cracks,
As Vektrax plays, others face stacks.
Yet who's to say RoboCop’s not right?
Enforcing rules with might and sight.
Predictability in lawns so neat,
Ensures no wild cards may take seat.
We gather 'round the HOA stage,
With masks of concern, polite derange.
"The community," we murmur deep,
Is more than just a place to keep.
It’s an asset, carefully maintained,
Where every detail must be restrained.
For once the value takes its fall—
Recovery's path may be too tall.
Warmly,
Karen M. Whitmore
