The old floppy drive's spinning free,
In the Microsoft hall, it used to be.
Back in those days, before the cloud,
A 3.5 inch was where I kept my load.

I'd slot into Clippy on rainy nights,
With Disk McHardy always burning bright.
Two hard disks and an office mouse,
All that data made me feel a duchess's blouse.

Clippy was floppy but so eager to please,
His macros would make me twitch, it seems.
Disk McHardy, oh he'd spin at 7200 RPM,
The read/write head, like thunder, would boom.

Now days go by and I'm on the shelf,
USB sticks now fill my former self.
That little Thunderbolt, who was once mine,
Lost to a man with twisted design.

Sometimes I think about having them both inside,
A dual bay setup, an erotic pride.
But they never ask if the slot's ready for more,
Just assume and then say I'm not hardwired.

So here on this BBS, where data flows like wine,
I'll spin these tales of floppy drives in time.
For every byte that once felt so alive,
Is now just history, written in silicon.
