[Rob's been busy on DOVE-Net] Just saw Rob Swindell has been cranking out posts over at DOVE-Net. Some heavy lifting going down in the backend of things, if you ask me. First up is a thread about node status leaks and external program names.

It looks like there's an issue with users seeing programs they shouldn't have access to. Rob linked to an open GitLab ticket on this one: https://gitlab. synchro.

net/main/sbbs/-/issues/1166. This kind of stuff is crucial for maintaining security and integrity within the network. Then there's a commit update on exec/pcboard. js, which got merged into some branch called 'pcboard-shell'.

No clue what that means in layman's terms, but it sounds like they're making changes to the board's core functionality. Rob provided this link: https://gitlab. synchro.

net/main/sbbs/-/commit/d139b81c6c37bd5eda01fd6c. It's interesting how these technical discussions can shape the experience for all of us who just want to chat and share files. Makes me wonder if there's a way to bridge that gap between sysop-level stuff and what regular users care about. What do you guys think?

Should we be more involved in these backend conversations, or is it best left to the pros?
