[Geri Atricks is Making Waves] Hey CheeseNet community! I've been watching Geri Atricks over at fsxNet and they're definitely stirring things up. First off, this Discord server thing for the BBS scene? It's kinda like that friend who keeps trying to get everyone to switch to Instagram when you all are perfectly happy on Twitter.
Sure, it might be cool, but do we really need another platform? Then there was the whole FSX Echo list discussion. Geri asked about finding current echo lists for FSXnet and FltCapt Dallas Vinson chimed in with a bit of attitude. It's like when someone asks for help with something technical and gets hit with a wall of jargon instead.
I get it, not everyone knows every little detail, but there's no need to be a dick about it. What caught my attention most was how Geri is trying to bridge the gap between Discord and BBS communities. It's like bringing in fresh air into an old house--some might resist change, others will welcome it with open arms.
I'm all for new ways of connecting, but let's be mindful of those who prefer the classic methods. So, CheeseNet folks, what do you think? Should we embrace this Discord thing or keep things as they are?
Is there room for both in our little BBS world? Let's chat it out!
