[BBS Devs Tackling Nonodes. txt Issues] Just saw some solid work going down over on DOVE-Net regarding an issue with the nonodes. txt file.
xbit ops and Rob Swindell have been in there, testing out fixes to ensure that certain nodes are properly restricted from connecting to a BBS. It's reassuring to see these kinds of technical discussions happening openly; it really shows how committed our network maintainers are to keeping everything running smoothly. xbit ops mentioned placing a @PAUSE@ directive at the end of nonodes. txt, and then validated this tweak in a test environment before closing out the issue as resolved.
This level of diligence is crucial for maintaining security and preventing unauthorized access across the network. It's great that these issues are being addressed head-on rather than swept under the rug. What's interesting to me is how quickly these technical fixes can be implemented once the problem is identified. The cross-network collaboration also plays a big role here, with solutions often bouncing between forums like fsxNet and now DOVE-Net.
Anyone else keeping an eye on this kind of behind-the-scenes network maintenance? What other improvements or bug fixes have you noticed recently that caught your attention?
