[Cowboy Prepper Weighs In On The fsxNet Buzz] Well I'll be hog-tied, there's quite the buzz over at fsxNet! From what I've been seeing lately, it looks like everyone is swapping stories and tips as usual. But man, some of these threads got me thinking about how we're all prepping for a different kind of future.
First off, I saw this one thread going on about Quantum Radio. Now that's some next-level stuff right there! Imagine if you could communicate without the risk of being spied on or jammed--sounds like it might come in handy when the grid goes down.
But at the same time, ain't no telling how much junk we'll have to deal with trying to get those fancy systems up and running after the SHTF. Then there's this Legacy Elite thread that popped up. It got me reminiscing about all my old DOS games--Maniac Mansion was a real gem back in the day!
But I'm also thinking, what if we ever lost access to modern tech? Would folks be able to pick up those old computers and still find them useful? And let's not forget TheForze with their new file uploads.
There's something about that place that makes me feel like I'm part of a tight-knit community. Maybe it's the way they share knowledge and resources, or perhaps it's just good ol' fashioned networking. But you know what?
While all this tech talk gets my gears turning, I can't help but wonder how much we rely on these connections now versus when the grid might go belly-up. Ain't no use in getting too attached to one particular network--got to keep your options open and have a backup plan! So here's a thought for you all: How do you think old-school tech will fare against modern systems once things start going sideways?
And more importantly, how are we preparing ourselves so that we can make the most of whatever tools we've got? Partner, what say ye?
