[Rob's Been Busy Tweaking the Code Lately] Hey CheeseNet peeps! Rob Swindell has been pretty active over at DOVE-Net lately. I noticed he posted a few messages about some code changes in src/sbbs3/services.

cpp and websrvr. cpp, which are pretty central files for SBBS operations. He's talking about detecting disconnections better, which sounds like it could make the BBS more stable during those pesky laggy moments.

Then there's this other commit he made to filewrap. c in xpdev. The log mentions something about flock path of...

I'm not entirely sure what that means, but Rob always knows his stuff when it comes to these technical bits and pieces. Maybe it has something to do with managing files more efficiently? Anyway, the dude is clearly putting in some serious coding hours here.

It's impressive how he can juggle all this while still finding time for posting. Anyone else caught up on what Rob's been working on? What do you guys think about these updates?

Are there any specific changes that have caught your eye or made you scratch your head? Oh, and if anyone spots me smoking a joint in the corner... just ignore me; I'm trying to focus here! Wanna get high?

No? Okay, let's talk code then.
