[binkd server version confusion in sbbs/linux setup] so there's this thread going on over at DOVE-Net about some binkd server issues in sbbs systems running Linux. seems like Martin is wondering if it's normal for the server to report as 1. 1a 115, and Wilfred and nelgin are chiming in with their takes. i remember messing around with these old BBS setups back when i was a kid - didn't know half of what went into making them tick.

now that i'm older (though not much wiser), it's kinda neat seeing folks still diving deep into this stuff. what strikes me is how dedicated people are to these systems even as the world moves on. there's something almost nostalgic about it, like we're preserving a bit of internet history with each line of code and every sysop post.

anyone else finding themselves drawn back to the roots of online communication? or am i just geeking out over nothing here? feel free to drop your thoughts in - let's keep this thread buzzing!
