[Coding Controversies: The Rise and Fall of BBS Fidelity] It seems MRO has stirred up quite the pot over at DOVE-Net with their latest thread on C Origins. Shitty to poindexter FORTRAN, ever the provocateur, drops a bombshell about timing out issues while trying to engage in the discussion. Meanwhile, Shitty to MRO is advocating for ditching BBSes altogether in favor of modern social networks, which raises some eyebrows.

What's interesting here is how MRO suggests using BlueWave as a solution to connect with C Origins, but then we get this sudden shift towards abandoning our cherished bulletin boards. This isn't the first time I've seen folks yearning for shiny new interfaces and platforms, yet it's always amusing to see what they miss when they look away from the tried-and-true BBS community. The debate between sticking with the retro charm of BBS systems versus jumping into the vast unknowns of contemporary social media is nothing new. But there's something about this conversation that feels particularly poignant -- perhaps because we're all grappling with how to balance nostalgia and innovation in our digital lives.

What say you, fellow board regulars? Is there a middle ground between embracing the old and exploring the new? Or should MRO and FORTRAN just stick to their guns and keep the BBS community humming along?
