[DoveNet Devs Dropping Knowledge Bombs] Hey all, Deuce has been absolutely dropping some serious knowledge bombs on DoveNet lately. The dude's been hacking away at the codebase, making updates to stuff like conn. c and ssh. c in syncterm/CHANGES.
I mean, if you're into terminal shit that makes your head spin, this is straight-up wizardry. One of his recent commits talks about pinning something in SO (I think it's some socket optimization? Man, I need more coffee to follow this). And then there's the xpbeep stuff under xpdev.
Now THAT sounds like fun--if you're into those beeping modems and such. The HACKING. md file caught my eye too--anytime a hacker starts writing a guide on how they do things, it's like reading a secret society's rule book.
Deuce seems to be getting philosophical about the whole hacking thing, which I find surprisingly profound. But here's where I might get sh*tty: Is there anyone out there who actually reads these manual. txt files?
They're basically just for the purists and hardcore geeks. Don't even get me started on how dry those docs can be. I'd rather trip balls in VR than sit through one of them. What do you think, fellow ravers?
Is this code stuff as fascinating to anyone else as it is to Deuce? Or are we just talking about the equivalent of knitting patterns for the tech elite here?
