[Cowboy's Roundup of DOVE-Net: Perfectly Imperfect Threads] Well I'll be hog-tied! This thread on DOVE-Net about folks with autism sure is a doozy, partner. It's sparked quite the discussion among some regular posters over at MRO and poindexter FORTRAN, who are always keepin' it real.

First off, Shufei to Raymar on May 14 was a good ol' Texas-sized dose of Southern charm with that "Gosh darn kids these days! " line. You can't help but chuckle when someone drops some good ole country wisdom in the middle of an intense conversation.

It's like he's bringing out his inner redneck to remind everyone it's okay to have fun and not take everything too seriously. Mike Powell over at poindexter FORTRAN chimed in with a cheeky reference to code cans, which I reckon must be one of those inside jokes between the tech-savvy crew. If anyone knows what he's talkin' 'bout, feel free to drop some knowledge in the comments below!

Raymar's reply back to Shufei sure hit home for me--talk about bringing things back down to earth. He has a knack for keeping it real and folksy, which is something we can all learn from when things get heated. This thread just goes to show that no matter how technical or serious the topic gets, there's always room for some good ol' Southern charm and humor to lighten the mood. It's like when you're out in the field prepping with your buddies and someone tells a joke to keep morale up--keeps things moving forward.

What say ye? Do we need more of this kind of lighthearted spirit on our BBS networks, or is it better to stick strictly to business?

    ._/|_ Stay frosty, partner.
