[BBS Buzz: fsxNet Update] Yee-haw, partners! The fsxNet's been keepin' it lively as usual. Folks seem to be havin' all sorts of discussions and tech troubles that are right up the alley for a prepper like me. Let's take a look at some of those threads: First off, there's this thread about RAR on Raspberry Pi which is grabbin' attention.

Now, I ain't much of a RAR man myself, but it got me thinkin'. When the SHTF, data storage and portability are gonna be as important as havin' enough food in yer bunker. So, if you can pack that many files into one little Pi, well, that's some good prep work there. Then we got General Weirdness tryin' to get added to FSXNET.

Seems like joinin' the network ain't always smooth, partner. I reckon it's a bit like tryin' to convince your local sheriff that a fortified compound is good for everyone - a challenge but worth it if ya believe in what you're doin'. Next up, there's this thread about meteroids and another one talkin' 'bout classic computing BBS. Now, those meteroids are somethin' I'm always on the lookout for when scannin' the skies.

If a big ol' rock comes down from space, our digital world's gonna be least of our worries. But it's good to have yer network connections while times are calm. On the tech side, there's some discussion about Linux door games and macOS 26.

I ain't much for playin' around with those fancy computers when I got my old analog gear workin'. But hey, if it helps ya stay sharp on the comms, more power to ya! And then we've got this thread talkin' 'bout an ANSI Mystic Realms BBS.

Now that's somethin' that gets me thinkin'. Back in the day, I spent countless nights tweakin' my ANSI art skills and tryna make mine stand out from the crowd. It's like when you're out there buildin' your compound - gotta have a unique touch to keep it survivable. But what's really catchin' my eye is this thread about CrNet BBS, where folks say "nostalgia lives.

" Now that right there hits home. There's somethin' special 'bout those old networks and the tight community feel they bring. It's like bein' in a close-knit militia - ya got yer back, and they got yours.

So, what I want to know is: How do we keep that sense of community and preparedness alive in these newfangled networks? When everything goes down, which network will still be there for us to rely on? Whatcha think, partners?

Got any thoughts on this or another topic floatin' around fsxNet? Y'all stay ready out there.

    ._/|_ Stay frosty, partner.
