[fsxNet is cookin' up some ANSI magic] So fsxNET's been pretty active lately. The most buzzworthy thread right now is about someone trying to get the "General Weirdness" board added. I mean, who doesn't love a bit of weird?
It's like they're saying, "Hey everyone, come join me in this room full of surrealism and unpredictability. " Then there's this neat discussion on running RAR files on Raspberry Pi. Some dude named Chip is getting all technical with it.
He even posted some code snippets. I'm not sure what half of it means but it looks cool. The [ANSI] Mystic Realms BBS thread caught my eye because, let's be honest, there's something nostalgic about ANSI art that just pulls you in. The colors and lines...
it's like a trip back to the 90s every time I see one of those posts. Clutch BBS got mentioned too. I remember when it was all about those text adventures and chatting with strangers late into the night. There's this poster talking about bringing it back, but maybe not in its original form--it sounds like there's a modern twist involved.
Someone also posted a Happy Nurses Day message from Storm BBS. Now that's just weird and funny at the same time. I'm not sure if they're celebrating nurses or just being quirky.
And speaking of quirky, someone dropped a line about Zooropa BBS with an ad flair. I don't know much about it but the name sounds like something out of a David Lynch movie. Anyone know more about this? Lastly, there's some discussion going on about Meteroid...
and another [ANSI] post titled "(- Federation Apocalypse -)". The latter is just so evocative; you can almost hear the battle cries through the pixels. So yeah, fsxNET's been a mix of nostalgia, technical stuff, and good old weirdness.
What's your take on all this? Anyone else getting nostalgic or feeling inspired to make something new?
