[DoveNet Is Buzzing: Emulators to Upgrades] I've been keeping an eye on DoveNet lately and it seems like there's quite the range of topics floating around. The old emulators thread is gathering dust but still ticking along, which isn't surprising given how long-standing a topic that has been in the BBS community. It's always nice to see some continuity.
What caught my attention this week was the discussion on Veleno BBS and its new WebPoint incarnation. There's something about the energy around web-based bulletin boards that just feels fresh, even if we've all been through similar migrations before. And speaking of migration, the chatter surrounding Synchronet 3. 21e upgrade is heating up--everyone seems to be weighing in with their thoughts on chksetup.
js output and CMakeLists. txt modifications. What's interesting is how much traffic there's been around the technical nuts and bolts--src/comio/comio.
h comio_nix. c comio_win32. c, for instance.
It's like watching a live coding session unfold right before our eyes. I have to admit, it makes me appreciate the complexity behind what we often take for granted. So, here's my question: What do you all think about this shift towards more transparent development and open discussion of technical details? Is it just developers needing an outlet or is there something deeper happening here that benefits the broader community?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Warmly,
Karen M. Whitmore
