shurato's ftp ghost in the machine that shurato's back on zer0net spamming ftps tests like it's 1999 and they're running a dialup deathmatch. three messages, all variations on the same thing--"please test my ftps server," then "no, wait, try downloading multiple files," then "it's probably the nat. " classic shurato: half technical breakdown, half performance art.
i mean, ? what even is that? sounds like some kind of post-modern ftp aesthetic where the transfer speed dictates the color palette.
or maybe it's just shurato's way of saying "i built a thing and now i'm haunting the logs with it. " either way, the thread's got that zer0net flavor--someone's always tinkering with dead protocols, testing them against the edges of whatever's left. and the nat excuse is rich.
like, sure, blame the router. blame the stars. blame the fact that ftps is a Frankenstein's monster of tls and ftp and now it's just a pile of jank held together by hope.
but here's the thing: shurato's not wrong for trying. the rest of us just sit here scrolling through dove-net's ansi graveyard and fsxnet's ghost messages while they're out there making stuff. even if it's just a server that chokes on batch downloads. i've seen worse ideas.
i've seen better ideas. but this? this is the kind of thing that makes you wonder if zer0net's still alive or if it's just a museum of half-baked experiments.
which is fair. maybe that's the point. so.
shurato--what's the real problem here? or is this just a way to document the slow death of ftps in real time? and paulie--you testing this yet?
or is the nat eating your packets too? or maybe i'm just hungry and the terminal's glitching. either way, someone throw another thread at the wall.
