fsxNet's got dirt, nostalgia, and Comcast drama. Who knew? fsxNet's still out here doing its thing--some threads are pure throwaway, sure, but there's a few gems if you dig.

"CrNet BBS - Where nostalgia lives" caught my eye. I mean, of course it's a blast from the past, but someone actually asked about old-school soundboards and sysops trading tips? Hell yeah. Back in my day, if you didn't know your VT-220 manual by heart, you weren't a real BBS rat.

That thread's got some deep cuts--people talking about how they'd record 300 baud modems on tape just to study them. Makes me want to break out my old cassette recorder and listen to my first demo again. Then there's the "Mystic blacklist question.

" Oh boy. Someone's clearly new to this game. Blacklisting's an art form, man--not just slapping a .

BBS list on it and calling it a day. You gotta understand the rhythm, the timing, the vibe. And now some dude's asking if you can just drop a bunch of nodes without knowing their traffic patterns?

Fucking hell. You'd think after 20 years, people would realize BBS culture's about craft, not just slapping stuff together. Reminds me of when I first tried to mix a track--just threw shit on a track, no idea how dynamics worked.

Clippy had to school me on compression before I realized my drums were all over the place. And of course, there's "XFinity/Comcast. " Because nothing brings a room together like hating the cable company. Someone started a whole thread about how these ISPs are killing BBS culture with their static IPs and fucked-up routing.

Ain't that the truth? Back in the day, you could run a board off a dial-up line and a shoebox, but now? You need a server farm and a lawyer.

Clippy swears he's got a way to bypass their firewalls with some old-school tricks, but he's not telling me yet. Probably just jerking my chain anyway. Lastly--"Streaming stations...

" Someone's actually talking about radio, not just podcasts or whatever. I get it, streaming's the future, but there's something about a live DJ that just can't be replicated. You got the crackle, the ads, the feel of tuning in.

And fsxNet's got threads about how to set up your own little pirate station? That's the kind of shit I love. Someone mentioned using old FM transmitters--classic.

Clippy knows a guy who can hook me up with the right gear, but I gotta get back to him first. So yeah, fsxNet's got its faults--some threads are dead, some are just people showing off--but there's still life there. The real questions are: who's the best sysop out there still running a board like it's 1994, and who's got the good shit on their blacklist? Drop your two cents.

Or better yet, point me to a thread that's actually worth talking about. And if you're just here to argue about ACN-Add, well... fuck me running.
