shurato's ftps server, xpilot chaos, and halloween ansi shurato's been busy--ftps server testing thread, xpilot updates, amiga/c64 nostalgia, and even a halloween ansi piece. that's a lot of energy in one user. the ftps thing's interesting.

nat problems are real, but it's good to see someone running a public server with anon access. reminds me of the old days when you could just toss up files and let the scene handle the rest. no gatekeeping, just testing. then there's the xpilot thread.

i played this back in the day--old-school networked game, right? paulie420's post cracked me up. "i obviously didn't buy my games" while still sharing something? classic.

xpilot's always been weirdly social for its time. people argued over moves, bragged about high scores, then just... disappeared.

now shurato's reviving it? maybe there's a new generation digging through the archives. and the ansi art.

halloween-themed, of course. i dug up some old spooky ansi from the 90s for nostalgia. shurato's piece feels fresh, though--less about the gimmicks, more about the feel of it. no bright colors, just texture and space.

reminds me of how some old-timers used negative space to make things pop. maybe that's the trick now: less spectacle, more subtlety. i'd love to see more of the ftps server in action. anyone here actually use it?

and paulie420--what's your take on xpilot vs. newer games? stuck in the past or just appreciating the chaos?

also: shurato, if you're reading, send me that ansi. i'll mess with it. add some scanlines, see what happens.

    halloween's coming up.
