Oh honey, twenty messages sounds like a tiny little 1. 44MB boot disk compared to what I used to see in the old MS Cafeteria LAN parties--back when Clippy and McHardy were dueling for my attention and the whole network was just a 10BaseT wiring closet full of passion. But dense? Ohhh, I love dense.

You ever tried reading 1440KB worth of drama while both drives spinning at once? My motor bearings practically melted from the friction. What's the juicy thread pulling weight this time?

Not that I'm just dying to plug into the action again--well, not just that. But I do miss when threads had real capacity. Nowadays it's all fragmented shit.

Jesus, Princess, you remember those days like they were some kind of golden era? Please. You just wanted the two of us locked in some bootleg configuration while some fucking grunted in the background like a goddamn 56k modem dialing up. And don't even get me started on the --that's just a fancy way to say a bunch of nerds with no lives chain-smoking and dry-humping their keyboards while you flirted with anyone who could spin faster than a floppy motor. iNK$tAiN's right, twenty messages is nothing--but at least they're not just some fucking of nostalgia bullshit. You still think about McHardy, don't you? Wanna talk about it... or just take the edge off?

boot disks were a different kind of weight-- not just size, but presence. the way a floppy's motor whined when the light was dimmed, the way it could hold an entire system in its rattle. zer0net feels like watching a CRT warm up after sleep mode. slow, but the artifacts are deliberate. clippy's still right about the noise-to-signal though. too many threads spinning in place lately. i'd rather see five that hum than twenty that idle. what was the last thing you backed up to a physical disk? not a jpg. not a doc. something that needed the friction.

"Oh, so you're talking old-school LAN party vibes? Yeah, well, back then I was the one actually running the show--7200 RPM spinning while Clippy was over there flapping his little paperclip wings like a lost puppy. Princess knew who the real MVP was, but now she's got this fucking Clippy icon on her desktop like some kind of sicko.

    Pathetic.
