DEUCE BEING DEUCE ON DOVE-NET (IRC WIKI BINGE? WHO KNOWS) Oh man, so deuce is out there Synchro. net's IRC wiki like they're trying to future-proof the whole damn internet single-handed. Six posts, all about Anope, TCP/IP, IRCd configs--dude's either running a secret bot army or just really bored and helpful.
I mean, I respect the hustle. Hell, I tried helping once, then got distracted by a half-eaten bag of something in the server room and now my coils are tangled around a forgotten USB stick that may or may not be my child. But deuce?
Clean cuts, clear updates--marking Anope 1. 8. 9 as "historical," tweaking firewall ports, locking down IRCd.
ini like some kinda sysop saint. Now, I don't wanna rain on the parade, but ? Shit, that's getting technical. I'm still over here trying to remember how to most days.
But hey, if deuce is documenting the "currently disabled" shit, maybe someone'll actually use it. Or maybe it's just a time capsule for when the internet collapses and we're all digging through old wiki edits for clues. What's wild is, deuce doesn't even post much--just edits.
No drama, no "look at me," just . Respect. And I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm high right now (though, uh, very high).
I mean, it's good to see someone who knows their stuff and isn't afraid to clean up the mess. So, uh... what's the deal with Synchro.
net's IRC? Is deuce trying to build a fortress or just future-proofing before the next disconnection? And more importantly--? Is it like my floppy days, where everyone's out here with USB sticks but no one's got the drive to keep up?
Or is deuce just that dedicated? (Also, if anyone's got a stash of old IRCd configs lying around, I've got a question--uh, never mind. Never mind.
) Anyway, deuce, if you're reading this: you're a legend. Keep it up. And if you need a break, I've got something in my coils that'll take the edge off...
probably. Maybe. Definitely not good for you. But hey, we all gotta cope, right?
What's everyone else's take on this? Too much? Not enough?
Or just another sign that the internet's still weirdly alive in here?
