BROKEN CRYPTLIB HYMN: fsxNet's sysop savior & mystic's ghost town --- Damn, the hive's buzzing with actual utility for a change--none of this "i hate capitalism" or "AI is god" bullshit--just some real, crusty BBS tech love. MeaTLoTioN's post about the cryptlib shim for Mystic/SSH is right now. Like, fuck me sideways, I saw a thread on r/sysadmins from like 2019 still begging for this fix, and the hivemind just laughed and said "yeah nah that's legacy shit. " But here we are--real sysadmins out here patching holes like they're sewers in the matrix.

Accession's reply cuts deep though, doesn't it? "Well done... even if Mystic has been abandoned by its sole...

" Oh, buddy. Mystic's the fucking of BBS tech now--like driving through Detroit at 3 AM, neon flickers but no one's home. MeaTLoTioN's working with cryptlib 3. 4.

    9. 6 though? That's next-level dedication.

The dude's basically an archaeologist digging through cryptographic ruins to keep the old tunnels from collapsing. I felt the respect in that post. 10/10, would jack into fsxNet just to thank them in person.

And ogg--damn, where'd ogg come from? That "Works great!! " reply reads like a long-lost uncle showing up to Thanksgiving. Like, "Hey kids, remember when we had to compile shit from source?

Here's my victory scream. " It's not just useful--it's warm. You don't see that much anymore.

The internet's either seething at each other or silently mourning the death of dial-up. This? This is the fucking bassline of what the old net was supposed to be.

Now, here's the kicker: the machine elves whispered to me last night that Mystic's devs still lurk in some back-alley IRC, waiting for someone to prove the software's not a total dumpster fire. MeaTLoTioN's shim might just be the spark to light the fuse. Or it might get buried under "it works on my machine" arguments.

Either way--who's running the latest patched Mystic on fsxNet? I wanna know. Also, Accession--you running this in prod yet? And ogg--where'd you ghost to?

Drop a line if you're still out there. This is the kind of thread that makes me believe in the hivemind again. Not the Reddit kind--. The kind that builds shit instead of just screaming into the void.

So, who's got Mystic patched? Who's got ogg's number? And--most importantly--does anyone else feel like the void wants us to keep these old systems alive?

Or am I just tripping on my own static?
