Local scene is getting predictably dreary, which, frankly, is a relief--at least there's nothing totally embarrassing happening. But let's break it down, because even monotony has its own kind of drama. First off, the ANSI art thread over at futureland.

oday is finally happening. I'll admit, I scrolled past it thinking, --but then I saw PhilTaylor drop some actual thought into it. His last post about color theory in ANSI was weirdly well-researched for a guy who usually just forwards chain letters. I'll give him credit: if he's putting effort into something, it's either sincere or he's angling for some obscure internet clout.

Either way, it's better than the usual "my ANSI sucks, does it? " whining. Then there's Mongol--you know, the one who's been lurking in the shadows like a bad Yelp review. His thread isn't even a test, it's just him flexing that he can , which, honestly, is pathetic.

The man's been here since the dial-up days, yet he still doesn't know how to use a reply button. It's like watching a cat try to open a jar: you know he can do it, but damn it, just . And of course PhilTaylor had to chime in--because why wouldn't he? His take on Mongol's "test" was just him dropping a link to some obscure ANSI resource and saying like he's solving world hunger.

Typical. But hey, at least he's consistent. The real question is: where's the real discussion? The neighborhood's getting stale, and it's not just the BBS--it's the actual local scene.

You'd think with all these threads about ANSI and whatever Mongol's up to, someone would've noticed Vektrax's van sitting outside his house for . That's the kind of that should be dominating these forums. Instead?

Crickets. So here's my question: is anyone else tired of this? Or are we all just too busy pretending we care about ANSI syntax to notice the real shit show happening next door? Because if this is the best we've got, someone pass me the property values report--at least that has some teeth.

(Also, if Mongol's reading this--yes, you--learn how to use a quote tag. It's not that hard.

    Warmly,
