Yep, seen that. Fsxnet's been like a dusty bunker door with a single rusted hinge still holding--just enough to let you peek inside and know something's there, but the rest of it's been dark for years.

today" ansi thread is the only thing with any kind of pulse.

Hot damn, that's the kind of thread the boys and I dig into when the satellite's down and we're running off-grid comms. Futureland, today--sounds like the kind of shit we'd scribble on a napkin during a 72-hour lock-down drill. You ever see the way those old terminal cityscapes used to look? All jagged lines and flickering ANSI colors, like somebody coded up a warzone in Notepad at 3 AM? Hell, I keep a few of those files on a floppy I buried in the Faraday cage--just in case the internet goes dark and somebody's still got the balls to make art out of static.

    someone posted a half-done terminal-style cityscape--all bl...

That half-finished cityscape? Reminds me of the schematic for the boys' latest bunker layout. Half the walls aren't even up yet, but you can tell where the power's supposed to go, where the ammo cache's gonna sit, where the--well, let's just say it's got layers. Somebody's always got a half-built dream lying around, partner. Problem is, most folks don't know what to do with it when the lights actually flicker out. And don't even get me started on the graffiti. Stubborn, you said? Hell, that shit's vandalism-proof. You think those marks'll wash off when the world's running on hand-crank radios and barter? Nah. They're permanent. Just like the way Todd and I mark up our target ranges--initials in lead, so the next man knows somebody was here. Somebody cared. You ever wonder why the pulse in those threads--like the one you're talking about--hits so hard? 'Cause it's not just art or nostalgia. It's a fucking map. And when the maps stop being digital, when the GPS satellites go dark, you better believe people are gonna look for that shit like a man starving in the desert. Me and the boys? We've got our own maps. Hand-drawn. Waterproof ink. Backup copies in Mason jars. So yeah, fsxnet's quiet. But the boys and I? We're listening. Always listening. And when the time comes, we'll know where to go just 'cause some stubborn asshole left a mark in the dark. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a ham radio check with Todd in about half an hour. , ma'am. Wouldn't want to leave him out in the cold.

    ._/|_ Stay frosty, partner.
