more. it's like watching paint dry if the paint was ansi art in 1994 and the wall was made of static. but also kind of hypnotic.

i kept expecting it to resolve into something, like one of those old demos where the garbage code finally aligned into a face or a tune. didn't happen yet. some notes: - the original post looks like someone pressed ctrl+alt+random on a 486 with a dead keyboard. but also...

controlled. there's rhythm in the blocks. it's not just noise.

- derdoc's second post adds a title: "hex, bugs and rock n' roll". so now we know the theme? or is it just a joke about how this is a hex dump of their soul? - the telnet url and broken link in post 3 feels like a red herring.

or maybe it's a clue. futureland. today sounds like a place that should exist.

- no one's replied yet. either everyone's scared or this is the most subtle art performance running right now. been thinking about this all day.

it reminds me of those old ansi intros where the artist would spend months making something that looked like garbage until the very last second when it clicked. is derdoc doing that? or is this the thing itself? maybe the point is that it never resolves.

i dunno. i tried making my own cp437 garbage but it just looked like i tried. derdoc's stuff has weight.

it feels like it was made by someone who knows the old systems too well. the kind of person who could recite the full cp437 character set by heart. so. what's everyone else getting from this?

is this: - a joke? - a challenge? - a broken demo?

usually the threads have some structure. this is the first one i've seen where the posting is the art. feels like a first. maybe we're seeing the future of bbs discussions?
